A fresh website for an independent asset manager that is fundamentally different from other firms in their market.
Palisade Capital, an independent asset manager established in 1995, needed a new website that conveyed how different they are from other firms in their market. Their previous site was outdated, hard to manage and relied on the soon-to-be obsolete Flash technology. Look North was hired to partner with them to make that new site happen.

First things first.
We began our work with the Palisade team by meeting with various groups in the Fort Lee, NJ offices. These groups included the Principles of the firm, the marketing team, Institutional and Individual investor strategy leads and their general counsel. We also researched a number of competitors to get an understanding for the market they operate in - which includes Morgan Stanley and other large banks. By understanding the products they offer and how their audiences expect to have information packaged we planned a digital strategy with a website at it’s core and a content strategy to support it.

Branding
Complete redesign of the Palisade brand identity system
The design began with a complete redesign of the Palisade identity system. We took a fresh look at the materials the mark and system would need to exist in/on and started there. The resulting mark conveys both an upward market, and the palisade cliffs that the firm is named after - quite clever if we say so ourselves. From there, an entire set of business communication materials were written and produced including a brochure for institutional investors, one for individual investors, a powerpoint template and more.

We collaborated with a great portrait photographer.
Once the branding materials were complete we turned our attention to the website. We planned a content strategy that would deliver content in a user-centric approach based on the types of audiences we anticipated visiting the site: high-net-worth consumers or institutional investors. We put a focus on the strategies and the people driving them. We delivered statistics for each of the strategies so visitors could see the scope of the products. We created a page for the team that was laid out to feel approachable and highlight the great folks that make up the Palisade team.

Expression Engine Content Management System
The site is built on the ExpressionEngine CMS, which is a powerful tool for site administration and application development. It features a responsive control panel for easy site management on the go by non-technical site administrators. And, it provides a framework for future content, features and functionality.
